Katoomba High School is uniquely located close to the cliffs of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The management of the school will therefore have a strong impact on the bushland that surround it.

In the last week of November, 2006, a bunch of Year 10 students took up the challenge to improve their school environment by undertaking some Bush Regeneration, bank stabilization, seed collection and re-planting.

The school hopes that this project will kick off a Landcare Group that can undertake on-going activities with the students.
