Biosecurity Legislation Forum

Greater Sydney Landcare Network will be holding an information event outlining the Biodiversity Legislation reforms and the implications they will have to our conservation related work in the Greater Sydney area.

There will be at least one representative from the Environmental Defenders Office present, and we are currently liaising with other well informed professionals representative of the Sydney Region to be a part of a panel of experts able to address your concerns.

WE WILL BE COMPILING A SUBMISSION TO THE GOVERNMENT BASED ON THIS FORUM.

It has come to our attention that there is not an adequate number of information events associated with these reforms and we are taking the task of informing you – and providing a submission – very seriously. As a result we would ask that you keep in mind our upcoming Forum and read relevant background information before the day if you intend to attend. Questions can be sent to Elisha or myself to prepare the panel beforehand – or you can ask those questions on the day. Additionally, you can email us any comments you may have and we will add them to our collective submission, should you be unavailable to attend.

What concerns you about the reforms – what can you tell us about it? Are there any other forums about the changes in legislation that you know about? Any input will make our submission that much better and hopefully more receptive to the State.

It is critical that we have our say on these legislative changes as they will impact on all of us and the beautiful environment we are trying to conserve, protect and preserve. I have included links providing some background information for you on the Biodiversity Legislation reforms. Our contacts are below, should you wish to contact us for any reason.
