Community Conversations

Community Conversations are being held with people across the Blue Mountains community by BLINN: Blue Mountains Lithgow Neighbourhood Network. So far we have interviewed 300 people on the streets of Leura, Katoomba and Wentworth Falls and now we are inviting people to join a sit down conversation. Each conversation is a chance for us to better understand people’s aspirations for your community, the concerns you have and what you believe might make a difference in strengthening the community. We’ll take what we learn from these conversations and use it to help make our work in the community more effective. We can’t promise the conversation will lead to a new program or policy. We will get back to you with what we learned and let you know how we’ll use what we heard. What are the conversations? Ninety-minute to two-hour kitchen table styled conversations that help us better understand the Community and how we can restore our belief that we can get things done together. There are questions to help open the discussion and it is focused on learning from you. What these conversations are not: A formal consultation, academic research or a focus group, sponsored by a political party, a business development effort, selling a particular solution or approach, a whinge session.

The date is: 1-3pm  on 26th of June at the Katoomba Library and a delicious afternoon tea will be provided. If people can not come to this but are still interested there is another immediate date the 28th June 2-4pm at the Carrington which is pretty booked out but we can put names down. RSVP essential. Please contact Josie at 4782 1117 ext 214 or josie@kncinc.org.au for further info, to confirm your place and/or any dietary requirements.
