Kodala Lane Working Bee

You are invited to join the Kodala Lane Bushcare Group at Glenbrook Lagoon for their quarterly Bushcare session. Come join us restore the bushland at Kodala Lane.

Our local community are working with council to transform this area into healthy bushland and a pleasant local reserve for all to enjoy. If you’d like to learn more about the local bushland, restore the local area and meet your neighbours come join us!

Grose River 3-day Remote trip (GGWW / NPWS)

The jewel in the crown. This multi-day activity is ideal for the fit and adventurous, who want to spend 3 days rock hopping and weeding along the river. Some experience in bushwalking and self-sufficient camping is required. Numbers are limited.

Valley View Swamp (Blackheath)

Come help us continue the landscape wide priority ecological restoration of this Endangered Ecological Community. Target biosecurity threats include infestations of English Holly surrounding the swamp, and sweeps into the swamp for recent recruits. This site filters the headwaters of Govetts Creek, which flows into the Grose Wilderness. Enjoy great company and a delicious morning tea and lunch donated by the Hominy Bakery. Numbers will be limited.

Katoomba Creek (Remote – Katoomba)

Continue the great work done by volunteers along a unique and little visited section of the Katoomba Creek.

Bushwalking and regeneration experience is essential for this trip as it involves off track walking, wading in the river and working with a backpack.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we cannot provide or share morning tea and lunch on these trips (please bring your own). Numbers will be strictly limited and bookings are essential.

Sunset Rock (Remote – Mount Victoria)

This is a new remote Bushcare site and will extend work being done by the Mount Victoria Bushcare group to stop invasive weeds from moving into the Kanimbla Valley.

A medium level of fitness and some bushwalking experience is needed as there is scrambling in the access.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we cannot provide or share morning tea and lunch on these trips (please bring your own). Numbers will be strictly limited and bookings are essential.

Come and join us! 2 hours of easy weeding with our Bushcare Officer followed by an interpretative walk to places of interest nearby. You may be working around the creek so gum boots are handy. No experience necessary and tools are supplied.

SUSPENDED Ruth’s Revenge

Unfortunately this event has been SUSPENDED due to coronavirus concerns.

Come along and join Ruth’s friends to commemorate her birthday at Minnehaha Falls Reserve by attacking her nemesis — Montbretia! This annual event brings us closer towards fulfilling her goal of eradicating this weed from Yosemite Creek. 

This annual event is held in the memory of Ruth Ley who dedicated so much time and energy into the Yosemite and Katoomba Creek catchments, and was a founding member of the Minnehaha Bushcare Group and active for 25 years.

Morning tea will be provided, though you are welcome to bring along treats if you would like to contribute to morning tea.
